On August 21, Black Benefactors served as a service site for Howard University’s 2020 Day of Service, which is a student-led, service-learning activity that sends incoming students to serve at different sites in Washington, DC. The service day focuses on eight initiatives addressing education, community health, environmental justice, youth outreach, elder outreach, housing/food support, and community protection/violence response. The service day was held virtually this year due to COVID-19.
Howard students assigned to volunteer with us wrote letters of encouragement for youth participants from three of our grantee organizations: Black Swan Academy, iFLY Youth and ScholarCHIPS.
Many thanks to the Howard students for giving back!
